For your group/organisation to have a website you will require several facilities -
1 - A domain name registration (i.e. yourgroupname.org.uk)
2 - A hosting package to display your website online
3 - A way to construct and develop your website
U3A Hosting Package
We offer a special hosting package for all existing and future U3A member groups for £25.00 per year which includes the options as shown below;
5GB webspace
5GB bandwidth
50 email addresses with email address forwarding.
Spam filtering for email addresses.
Webmail - for accessing & sending your emails from anywhere in the world.
Administrator login - therefore allowing full account administration of email accounts and other features.
FTP access & online file manager - so that files can be uploaded easily.
Basic Online Web builder software - allows the quick and easy creation of a basic website from a variety of templates.
A selection of free html website templates.
A MySQL database.
Frontpage extension support.
Free (.co.uk & .org.uk) transfers in and no domain release fees.
Free site submission utility for the 10 main search engines plus a host of other features.
Domain Name Registrations
The most suitable domain registration for a UK U3A group is either a .org.uk or a .co.uk name which cost £6.60 per 2*years
(*minimum registration period 2 years).
We also offer .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name & .eu domain name registrations which cost £9.50 per year and are more suitable for non-UK groups.
Domain names are registered to the group/organisations name or it's main administrator.
Website design and construction
We include a basic online web builder software utility as part of our hosting package and several website templates for you to utilise. The International Network for Universities of the Third Age (WorldU3A.org) can also provide assistance with the implementation of your website.

For existing groups who wish to transfer their hosting and domain name to our services then you will need to change some of the settings via your existing customer interface and you may need to contact your existing service provider to do this. Please contact us for details on how to do this.
